The Choose Your Own Adventure: A Reflective Journey in Personal and Professional Development© certificate program focuses on assisting participants in exploring elements of their continuing professional and personal development--seeking first to develop the individual, then allowing this progress to influence learners, team members, and communities.
This is a year-long, self-paced online program, which allows the participant to choose their own continuing education adventure and as the introductory module explains provides the analogy of preparing to take a hike. The program is comprised of four sections: Introduction to the Curriculum (learning about hiking), Approaches to Development (learning how to hike), Opportunities for Development (taking guided hikes), and Application (evaluating your hikes and preparing for future hikes).

There are 15.5 available elective hours for the participant to choose from that delves deeper into each of the required modules for the certificate, thereby making this program highly customizable to the participant's continuing professional and personal development (CPPD) needs. The additional 10 elective hours are available for purchase.
In addition, there is a downloadable workbook that contains self-reflection questions and other exercises to support each of the program’s modules. This workbook is the participant’s own personal guide that will assist them during the certificate program and after the certificate is earned.
